For this project of 8 bungalows, we sought to minimize the impact on the site.
As with any nomadic habitat, the project must be transportable and easy to assemble/dismantle.
The major impacts are the reinforced concrete foundations of each bungalow, the burial of the swimming pool, the drinking water tanks and the rainwater collection tanks.
For the sanitary facilities we have opted for dry toilets.
The bungalows are installed on concrete piles with a height of 15cm, to allow air circulation at floor level.
As for the walls, they are made of a honeycomb structure with a wooden cladding on the outside and an earth-straw coating on the inside.
These sandwich panels are entirely made in a factory and then transported to their future site in Krabi.
The roof is made of trapezoidal elements that fit together to form a wave roof. For waterproofing reasons, we proposed the addition of a plastic sheet at the top of the roof, which is fixed with rivets positioned every 50cm at the edge of the roof.
The bungalows were an ecological success due to their minimal footprint on the site.
